Throughout my degree my practice has grown into being influenced heavily by the city centre. I create art that considers the aspects that make up the busy environment. To do this I capture material from the environment, which is usually photography, video or sound. I manipulate and edit this material to create large installations which are obviously inspired by the busy public environment. A recent work that follows this practice consists of video footage of the city projected onto hanging materials that also have relation to the environment, this combination is partnered with powerful sound art to create an immersive experience for the spectator. Throughout the viewing and exploring of my installations, I want the spectator to feel immersed in the context of the work, so that they are made to feel as if they are part of something further than the gallery setting.
