CARLY NEWMAN

Carly’s work takes a dystopian outlook on society today and also the future as her work highlights the dehumanisation that advanced technologies have over the feminine corporeal. In a posthuman world, we are consumed by image and the self which are often controlled by masculine institutions such as the Internet. Carly’s work relishes in the moment that social binaries and boundaries are broken by the glitch. In this instance, the glitch is anything but an error, but a moment that breaks down the system, a much-needed erratum.
